Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site's owners. Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called “first-party cookies”. Cookies set by other organisations — for example, a payment provider embedded on a checkout page — are called “third-party cookies”.

Similar technologies include “local storage” and “session storage”, which store data in your browser in a comparable way. This policy covers all such technologies when we use them on the VibeDeploy platform.

Under Belgian and EU law (including the ePrivacy Directive as implemented in Belgian legislation), we are required to obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device. Essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the platform may be placed without consent.

2. Cookies We Use

The table below lists every cookie and browser storage item set by VibeDeploy, its purpose, and how long it persists on your device.

2.1 Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to work. They enable core functionality such as authentication and security. You cannot opt out of essential cookies while using the Service; doing so would prevent the platform from functioning correctly.

Cookie nameTypePurposeDuration
vd-tokenEssentialAuthentication token. Contains a signed, encrypted session token that identifies your logged-in session. Set as httpOnly and Secure; not accessible to JavaScript. Required to use any authenticated part of the platform.Session (deleted when you close the browser or explicitly log out)
vd-langEssentialLanguage preference. Stores your selected interface language so the dashboard displays in your preferred language on subsequent visits without requiring you to re-select it each time.1 year
vd-modeEssentialUI mode preference. Stores your selected dashboard complexity mode (Simple, Advanced, or Business) so your preferred view is restored on each visit. This setting directly affects the features and controls visible in the interface.1 year
vd-trusted-deviceEssentialMFA trusted device. Stores a cryptographically signed token that marks the current device as trusted for multi-factor authentication purposes. When present and valid, you are not prompted for your second factor on each login from this device. The token is device-specific and cannot be used on other devices. You can revoke all trusted devices from your security settings.30 days
vd-consentEssentialCookie consent record. Stores your cookie consent choices (which categories you accepted or declined) so our cookie consent banner does not appear on every page load. Without this cookie, the consent banner would reappear on every visit, which would be more disruptive to your experience.1 year

2.2 Analytics Cookies (Consent Required)

We do not currently use first-party analytics cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and request your consent via the cookie consent banner before placing any analytics cookies. Any analytics we collect are privacy-preserving: IP addresses are hashed, data is aggregated, and no cross-site tracking occurs.

2.3 Marketing Cookies (Consent Required)

VibeDeploy does not use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not partner with advertising networks, and we do not engage in behavioural advertising or cross-site user tracking. If this policy changes, we will update this document and seek your explicit consent.

3. Third-Party Cookies

In certain contexts, third-party services embedded in or linked from VibeDeploy may set their own cookies. VibeDeploy does not control these cookies, and they are governed by the respective third party's privacy and cookie policies.

3.1 Mollie (Payment Checkout)

When you initiate a payment or subscription upgrade, you are redirected to or interact with a payment form powered by Mollie. During this interaction, Mollie may set cookies to manage your checkout session, prevent fraud, and comply with payment security requirements. These cookies are essential to the payment process. For details, see Mollie's Privacy and Cookie Policy. Mollie's cookies are only active during the payment flow and are not used to track you across other websites.

3.2 Cloudflare (Network Protection)

Cloudflare provides DDoS protection and security filtering for our platform. As part of this service, Cloudflare may set a cookie named __cf_bm to distinguish between human visitors and automated bots, and to manage rate limiting. This cookie is technical and security-oriented in nature and does not track users for advertising purposes. It typically expires within 30 minutes of the end of your session. For more information, see Cloudflare's Cookie documentation.

4. How to Manage Cookies

4.1 Our Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit VibeDeploy, a cookie consent banner is displayed. You can use the banner to accept or decline non-essential cookie categories. Your choice is saved in the vd-consent cookie for one year.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by:

  • Clicking the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of our website, which will re-open the consent manager
  • Deleting the vd-consent cookie from your browser's storage and reloading the page; the consent banner will appear again

4.2 Browser Settings

You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here is how to access cookie settings in common browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Please note that blocking or deleting essential cookies (such as vd-token) will prevent you from logging into VibeDeploy and using the platform.

4.3 Do Not Track

Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. VibeDeploy does not currently change its behaviour in response to DNT signals, because we do not engage in cross-site tracking regardless of DNT settings. We treat all users' data with the same level of care.

5. Local Storage and Session Storage

In addition to cookies, VibeDeploy may use your browser's local storage or session storage to store UI state, temporary draft data, or cached responses. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers automatically. It does not contain personal data beyond what is already present in your session.

You can clear local storage and session storage through your browser's developer tools or by clearing your browser data. Clearing local storage will reset UI preferences stored there.

6. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we introduce new features that require new cookies, if we start working with a new third-party service, or if the law requires us to make changes. When we make material changes (such as adding new non-essential cookies), we will notify you through the cookie consent banner and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

If the change involves introducing new non-essential cookies, we will request fresh consent before placing them.
